Scottsdale has a healthy pro-business and development outlook. New and established companies continue to open locations or headquarters in Scottsdale. Some of the major industries include healthcare, hospitality, technology, retail and biotech.
Some of the well-known companies that are headquartered in Scottsdale include GoDaddy, Axon Enterprise, Fender Guitars, Discount Tire, ON Semiconductor, and more.
The massive TSMC development continues to be a game-changer for the Phoenix Valley. TSMC’s first fabrication plant started production in 2025, and the company has plans for six total facilities over the coming decades. This expansion is creating thousands of jobs and putting the Valley on the map as a global semiconductor manufacturing hub.
Scottsdale keeps racking up recognition for jobs and business growth. In 2024, the city was named the #1 best city in America for small businesses (CoworkingCafe), with an impressive 38% GDP growth and the second-highest percentage of self-employed business owners in the country. The city also landed the #1 spot for job opportunities in 2025 (Williams Luxury Homes) and came in at #5 nationally for entry-level jobs that don’t require a college degree (CashNetUSA), which makes it accessible to workers at all levels.
The startup scene is strong too. The Phoenix/Scottsdale metro ranked #1 nationally for startup ecosystem strength in 2024 (Crowdfund Capital Advisors), and Arizona is home to 137 companies on the Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest-growing private companies, with plenty of Scottsdale businesses making the cut.
There’s a large, educated, and talented workforce here. Between the business-friendly environment, solid infrastructure, strong job growth, and great quality of life, Scottsdale continues to attract both companies and the people who want to work for them.
