– Scottsdale Events August 2026 –
August is here, and that means new events are on the horizon that will make you forget all about the heat! Here are some events and activities taking place in and around Scottsdale this month.
- Slide the Rails – Tomorrow, August 1st– Cool off at the McCormick Stillman Railroad Park’s Slide the Rails event. From 9AM to 1PM, have fun on the waterslides, in the bubble foam pit and more. Everyone over the age of two will need a $10 unlimited slide and ride wristband. Pop Stroke and Kade’s Deja Brew will be onsite with tasty treats and beverages for purchase.
- Arizona Chefs’ Week – July 31st – August 9th – This event celebrating independently-owned restaurants has 70 participants this year and will feature either $55 or $66 menus per person. This is a great way to get out and explore some new places or potentially visit some of your favorites.
- Flashlight Nights at the Desert Botanical Garden – Saturdays from 7PM to 9:30PM – Grab your flashlights, some water and watch the desert come alive. These nighttime self-guided adventures are fun for everyone. Maybe you’ll spot some of the local desert critters while enjoying cool drinks and treats! Each night features a special educational focus and while you’re there, do not miss the Desert Garden Oasis After Dark. Experience twelve new glowing art installations throughout the garden.
- $20 Tuesdays at the Phoenix Zoo – August 11th – Come enjoy the last installment of $20 Tuesday for summer 2026. Gates open at 7:00AM, and from 8:00-10:00 AM, there’ll be a Foam Frenzy party with music, emcees, games, and so much more. Be sure to bring a bathing suit and towel and a change of clothes because there will be a lot of foam!
- Happy Hour Fish & Sips – August 14th and 28th – These 21+ Happy hours are a different way to explore the OdySea Aquarium. Grab your preferred beverage (available for purchase) and head over there with your friends and family for a fun evening.
- Ribbon Cutting for the Thompson Peak Dog Park – August 21st – At 8:30AM on the 21st, the long-awaited dog park will open at Thompson Peak Park. It covers 3.5 acres and features separate areas for active and passive dogs. You will also find, shaded seating, water stations, restrooms, lighting and other amenities.
- Wonderspaces – All Month – New and innovative art installations are introduced throughout the year as others are retired. It is a great way to spend an hour or two in a fascinating and creative air-conditioned space.This is the final month for the Submergence by Squidsoup immersive installation,
- Go Tubing on the Salt River – Open for the season – Beat the August heat while floating do wn the Salt River. Early morning trips (starting at 8AM) may be the most comfortable option. Online reservations are available!
