Fall has officially begun, despite what the thermometer might suggest!
But, the Fall season brings plenty of festivals and Halloween events across the Valley. Below is a list we’ve compiled, featuring a collection of upcoming activities that range from family-friendly gatherings to terrifying experiences for those who crave a serious scare.

Halloween and Fall Festivals in Scottsdale and Greater Phoenix
- Pumpkin Fest at the Princess – Through October 31st – Pumpkin Fest is back after a three year hiatus! The Princess has gone above and beyond to make this a stellar event spread out over 200,000 square feet. There is a 90 foot slide, an enormous hay maze and plenty of attractions and thrills. Purchase your tickets in advance on the website.
- MacDonald’s Ranch Annual Pumpkin Festival – October 4th – October 31st – This is one of our favorite family traditions. This North Scottsdale pumpkin patch is jam-packed with things to explore. You can pan for gold, select the perfect pumpkin, run through the hay bale maze, pop into the petting zoo, participate in a scavenger hunt and more. There will also be food and gifts for purchase. If you plan to come multiple times, there is a season pass for $50 that will get you five visits to the event and a small pumpkin on the first visit. Admission is $15 per person. (Closed Tuesdays. Some activities, like hayrides and pony rides have an additional cost. Please see the website for pricing, including special discounts.)
- Mother Nature’s Farm – Through November 2nd– Pumpkin patch season has returned to Mother Nature’s Farm in Gilbert! Enjoy a hayride, pick your perfect pumpkin, feed adorable animals, and conquer the hay bale maze or try out the Mega Slide. Concessions are available (cash only), but feel free to pack a picnic and spend the whole day enjoying the farm. Entrance is $17 per person. (Open daily)
- Vertuccio Farms’ Fall Festival – October 3rd – November 2nd – October 31st – Mesa’s Vertuccio Farms Fall Festival has returned! All your favorite activities are back, including the massive corn maze, petting zoo, carnival games, and train rides. Last year’s popular additions, the pig race ride and ropes course, are back as well. Just want a pumpkin? You can purchase one without paying the festival entrance fee. Admission is $17 per person, but be sure to check their website for available discounts. (Closed Mondays and Tuesdays, except for the last week of October.)
- Tolmachoff Farms’ Pumpkin Days – Ocotber 1st – October 31st – In addition to plenty of pumpkins, the farm features multiple mazes (family-friendly and mini options), train rides, a hay pyramid, pedal cart track, jumping pillow, and much more. After dark, things take a spooky turn with the AZ Field of Screams Haunted Corn Maze, which kicks off October 3rd. Admission to the Pumpkin Days is $20 per person. Admission to the Field of Screams is $30 per person. And if you want to do both, the cost is $37 per person. (Closed Mondays and Tuesdays)
- Pumpkin and Chili Party at Schnepf Farms – October 3rd – October 31st– Queen Creek’s Schnepf Farms knows how to throw the ultimate pumpkin and chili party! Experience thrilling rides like the Hyperloop, navigate the massive 10-acre NASCAR corn maze, and enjoy pig races and the stunt dog show. New this year are the Jump Pad and Stuntmasters Bike Show. With zip lines, mini golf, a petting zoo, and nightly line dancing at 7pm, there’s something for everyone. Grab some chili or one of the other offerings, browse the shops, and relax by the bonfire with live music. Admission is $26.95 per person, and a season pass is available for $99. (Open Wednesday-Sunday. Some activities have an additional fee and purchasing tickets in advance is recommended.)
- Halloween Spook-Track-Ula – October 10th – October 31st – The McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park transforms into a spooky wonderland with family-friendly haunted train rides. The park’s skeletal station master, Engineer Bones, will greet passengers on select dates. Cap off the season with free trick-or-treating on October 31 from 4:00-9:30 p.m., offering a safe and festive atmosphere for collecting sweet treats. Tickets are $15 and need to be purchased in advance. Entry to the event is timed.
- Spooktacular Balloon Festival at Salt River Fields – October 24th – 26th -This 13th annual celebration brings over 20 hot air balloons to life, each serving as a trick-or-treat station where 4,000 pounds of candy will be distributed! Tethered balloon rides are available for an extra fee. Don your favorite costume and compete in contests for kids, adults, and teams. Get your tickets in advance.
- Cave Creek Wicked – October 25th – The 21+ Cave Creek Wicked bar crawl and costume contest is back. Get your best costume on and get ready for a night of fun!
- Strange Garden at the Desert Botanical Garden – October 27th – 28th -Get spooky at the Desert Botanical Garden! This family-friendly event features mad botanists, peculiar plants, and free pumpkins for kids while supplies last. Dance at the Monster Bash with DJ Muchacho Mike, watch pumpkin carving demonstrations, learn succulent propagation, and enjoy entertainment from the Phoenix Herpetological Society and Arizona Circus Center. Food vendors are available both evenings.
