– Twisted Grove Parlor and Bar in Scottsdale –

The lunch crowd was in full swing, but we were able to get seated quickly by the hostess. Our very friendly server, Maria, was right over to check on us and take our drink orders. The room itself is wide open, but open dividers throughout and how it is designed give it more of a multiple-room feel.
Choosing from the variety on the menu was tough as there were so many things we wanted to try. The food is modern American and you can get everything from oysters to sprouts to gnocchi and short ribs.

We then both had the Sunny Cobb salad. It plays off of the traditional Cobb and has lots of interesting and new tastes and textures. For instance, it comes with pickled onions, dates, charred corn, sprouts and crispy onion strings as well as the traditional ingredients. Plus, it comes dressed with two dressings, a slightly sweet, creamy vinaigrette and a blue cheese.
And, because they sounded tempting, we went with a side of Parmesan-Garlic Frittes. If you are a fan of crispy french fries, be sure to order these. They were hot and perfectly cooked with just the right amount of parmesan and herbs.
Other offerings include a bruschetta board (pick three of six choices,) sandwiches, in-house flatbreads, entrees and some very tempting desserts. For sides, you can order a la carte or get four for $15. There are also “Twisted Hour” specials to enjoy.
We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at Twisted Grove and look forward to may return visits.
