– Scottsdale Events May 2025 –
May is here, and that means a new set of events is on the horizon. Here are some events taking place in and around Scottsdale this month.
- 🏞️ Go Tubing on the Salt River – Open for the Season– Salt River Tubing kicked off the season on April 26th. Grab a group or go solo and float on down the Salt River. Online booking is available and you can buy a season pass to float all summer long. Be sure to check ahead as there may be closures due to weather or water levels.
- 🎡 Scottsdale Fair & Festival – Through May 4th – Get your fun on at the Scottsdale Fair at WestWorld. There will be tons of rides – from starter rides all the way up to adrenaline-pumping as well as live performances.
- 🏇 Kentucky Derby Events – May 3rd – Are you a fan of the Run for the Roses? Even though you will not be there in person, lots of local celebrations will be taking place. Turf Paradise is hosting the Derby Day Club, which is coming to you from the same group that produces the Polo Party. Several resorts around town are hosting Derby parties, including The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess and The Phoenician.
- 🎵James Taylor – May 5th – Spend your Cinco de Mayo listening to the classics of James Taylor and his All-Star Band. Tiny Habits will open for him.
- 🎸Outlaw Music Festival with Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan and More – May 13th – Legends will take to the stage at the Talking Stick Resort.
- 🍳 Arizona Restaurant Week – May 16th – 25th – As of today, 195 restaurants will be participating and more restaurants are joining daily. Each restaurant will offer a prix fixe menu for one or two people. Depending on the locale, prices are $33, $44 or $55. The list of participating restaurants is quite diverse so you can have a casual meal or try out something a little fancier or even take advantage of a great deal at one of your favorites!
- 🏠 Maricopa County Home Show – May 16th – 18th – All things home will be going on at WestWorld the weekend of the 16th. There will be hands-on instruction, seminars, demonstrations, amazing displays and even a magic show! Be sure to check out the 40,000 Floral Showcase as well!
- 🍷 AJ’s The Art of Wine and Garden of Flavors – May 17th – Sample hand-selected wines and small bites from AJ’s cellar masters and culinary team while supporting the arts at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts. This year’s garden party will feature a silent auction and discounts on bulk wine purchases. VIP packages are available as well.
- 🫧 Bubble Bash at Desert Ridge – May 17th – The bubbles (for kids!) will be flowing from 11AM to 1PM at Desert Ridge. Kick off summer by visiting the numerous interactive bubble stations.
- 🚀 Phoenix Symphony and Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back – May 23rd – 25th – Enjoy the Phoenix Symphony as they perform the score while you watch Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.
- 🧀 Mac & Cheese Festival – May 24th – Head over to Chase Field to celebrate Mac & Cheese for the day! Visit the various Mac & Cheese stations, cheer on the eating contests, hit the Kids Zone, do a little shopping and enjoy the music.
- 💍Mamma Mia – May 27th – June 1st – Fall in love (again!) with this fun musical featuring hits from Abba.
- 🖼️ Wonderspaces – Ongoing – This fascinating immersive art experience is located in Scottsdale Fashion Square. The interactive exhibits rotate frequently and run from thought-provoking to whimsical.
